The Give Temperature of Your Food

Just like most things in Oriental traditions, the temperature of your food can fall under one of five classifications. These are hot, warm, neutral, cool, and cold. Achieving balance in the temperature of your food contributes to a healthy and harmonic lifestyle. However, determining what temperature any individual food counts as is not as simple as it may sound.
Indeed, when we talk about the temperature of your food, we’re not talking about the actual heat of the food as you eat it. Rather, we are talking about the effect that the food has on the heat of your body. Foods like peppers, peanut butter, ginger, and smoked fish are hot foods, since they raise your temperature. Examples of cold foods include bananas, tomatoes, lettuce, tofu, and yogurt. Both groups have a lot to offer to your bodily health, and too much of either invites serious problems.
